EU PPWR Packaging Regulation Fully in Effect: Compliance Checklist for Auto Parts Exporters

The EU “Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation” (PPWR, Regulation (EU) 2025/40) has been fully applicable since August 12, 2026, replacing Directive 94/62/EC. It covers all packaging placed on the EU market — including outer cartons, trays, and protective materials for automotive parts — setting requirements for packaging recyclability, recycled content, and labeling.

For automotive component suppliers exporting to the EU, PPWR compliance means that packaging must meet new recyclability requirements, contain a certain proportion of recycled materials, and have clear labeling. Suppliers need to evaluate their existing packaging and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance.

Hetian Automotive has always attached importance to environmental protection and sustainable development. The company’s packaging design fully considers EU regulatory requirements, using recyclable materials and reducing unnecessary packaging. All products exported to the EU comply with PPWR requirements.

For suppliers, it is recommended to understand the specific requirements of PPWR as early as possible, evaluate existing packaging, and formulate compliance plans. Hetian Automotive can provide customers with packaging compliance consultation and technical support.
